February 2015 Newsletter
By Tom Davids
Looks like a good rain storm coming this weekend and we sure do need it so bring it on.
…..On January 18, Joyce and I hosted a group of young people from the local 4-H club who planted 20 basins for our hanging basket program as part of their community service program. The kids had a great time and look forward to seeing their basins hanging from the poles on Laurel St. Currently the basins are on display at the front porch of our Casa.
…..Our next lunch meeting is Friday, February 20…The business meeting starts at 11am and lunch will be served at 11:45.The lunch committee for February and for March and April is listed below. Our speaker is Cindi Morris, Master Gardener, who will tell us how to grow and use culinary herbs.
…..Our next Board of Directors meeting has been rescheduled to February 9, a week earlier to avoid a conflict with Presidents Day.
…..Our first plant sale is scheduled for Saturday, April 18 at our Garden Spot. Let’s make it a great event by contributing plants and helping on the day of sale. Bill, Dave, John, Barry and I stand ready to do the heavy lifting…set up, take down, and we will pick-up your plant donations.
That’s all for now. See you on the 20th if not before
