MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Halloween has come and gone and the holiday season is already here. Store windows are beginning to show their Christmas wares reminding us that gifts for Uncle Henry and Aunt Grace should be in the mail soon. Remember the old days when the best thing about Thanksgiving was that Christmas giving was soon to follow. So we “gardeners” will be thinking about those bright Christmas flowers—violas, pansies, primrose and cyclamen — providing cheer during rainy, cool December days.
And speaking of cheer, remember to calendar our holiday luncheon on December 15. The meal will be catered by Bianchini’s with entertainment provided by Csardas Gypsy Ensemble.
And in the holiday spirit, Edythe Miller has See’s candy for sale. A $2.00 donation will be made to the Club for each box purchased.
Our November luncheon will feature Hans Brough as speaker. His presentation will be “An Introduction to the World of Succulents”.
Also, get ready for our annual plant sale on April 28, 2018. We need your excess garden plants, pots, tools, and anything that may be useful to someone else. Our potting party to prepare for the sale is scheduled for January 24 from 9 to 11am at the Casa.
See you all at our November holiday lunch.
