We’re back! Get ready for fall planting. We have a choice selection, including:
- Dara’s Choice Sage: low growing, blue flowers
- Boca Rosa Island Snapdragon: loads of flowers
- Mound San Bruno Coffeeberry: tough, spreading, evergreen & loved by pollinators
- California Fuchsia: bright red flowers are favored by hummingbirds (in 4″ and 1 gallon sizes)
You may have heard predictions for a powerful El Niño this year, which may bring extra rain this winter. You might want to plant a little earlier this year so roots can grow before rain storms come through. Be sure to water your new plants until the rains take over. Remember to water natives that need it before a hot spell hits, while the soil is cool.
Our California native plants include perennials, shrubs, grasses and ferns for sun or shade. Other ornamental plants include speckled spur flower (a hummingbird favorite), succulents, and cacti.
We are an all-volunteer, non-profit garden club celebrating our 88th year! Our plant sales help us maintain the historic Casa de Flores (built in 1929 as the original Saint Charles Church) and fulfill our club goals of “stimulating the knowledge and love of gardening” and “aiding in the protection of native trees, plants and birds.”
