hummingbird with flowers

Plant Sale: July 25, 10am – 1pm

Many California native plants can be planted in the summer, especially if you are planting in containers. Avoid planting during a heat wave, and consider adding temporary shade if the plants are in full sun. California Fuchsia does well in containers and is beloved by hummingbirds, blooming summer through fall. (4″, $7)

Our California native plants include annuals, perennials, shrubs, grasses and ferns for sun or shade. Other ornamental plants include speckled spur flower (a hummingbird favorite), succulents, and cacti.

We are an all-volunteer, non-profit garden club celebrating our 88th year! Our plant sales help us maintain the historic Casa de Flores (built in 1929 as the original Saint Charles Church) and fulfill our club goals of “stimulating the knowledge and love of gardening” and “aiding in the protection of native trees, plants and birds.”

Location: Casa de Flores at 737 Walnut Street in San Carlos.
